      <image:caption>Steam Drill and Boiler Left edge shows part of the steam boiler with steam pipes running through the quarry. Steam Drill was set up with 2 men operating it, set on 3 legs. Each leg had a steel weight and was adjustable. Used 6 bits - starting with 1.5 inch each bit progressive longer up to 4 ft. long. On the top of the drill there was a crank handle to level the drill up. Steam oil in the drill reattach steam line to blow out dirt and lube - same procedure was used for plug drills.
